This family safari takes you into the world famous Ngorongoro Crater for two days of world class game viewing and wonderful relaxation opportunities with the family. All the family will enjoy this trip, though due to the time spent game driving we would recommend it as being more suitable for those aged 6 and over.
Day One
If you are arriving by plane, you will be met by your driver-guide at either Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport; for those already resident in Arusha, you can be collected from your place of residence first thing in the morning. You and your family will drive directly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping for a picnic lunch en route; this drive usually takes between 3 to 4hrs, depending on which airport you arrive into and how long you stop for at lunch time. You should arrive at Ngorongoro by mid-afternoon, settling into your hotel Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, which lies directly on the Crater rim boasting remarkable views out over the Crater. Spend the rest of the day with your family relaxing at the lodge, enjoying your beautiful surroundings, swimming in the pool and marvelling over the great view.
Days Two and Three
Your second and third days of this trip are yours to enjoy with two days of touring the Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast you and the family jump into the vehicle and begin the drive, descending the 600 meters down to the crater floor and taking with you your picnic lunch. The crater is famous for its large mammal populations. Keep an eye out for the elusive black rhino of which there are around 20 resident in the caldera. Most of the elephant you see will be bulls as females tend to avoid the area, because the Crater has the highest predator density in Africa! You will leave the crater in the afternoon and return to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Afternoon relax at the lodge or enjoy the pool with the children before dinner and a good night's sleep.
Day Four
The following morning you wake and enjoy a leisurely breakfast then get into the vehicle and begin the approximately three hour journey back to Arusha, travelling with a packed lunch. If you would like to add an exciting cultural experience to your trip, you may choose to stop off en route at Karatu and Mto wa Mbu where you and the family can visit a Maasai Boma. Here you can meet the Maasai in their own homes, learn about their lifestyle, participate in their cultural activities and watch and enjoy their traditional dances. There is an additional charge for this experience - please ask your safari consultant for further information. Once you have finished, you leave the village and continue your trip back to Arusha. You will be dropped at the comfortable and friendly Arumeru River Lodge in the afternoon, settling in before dinner and your last nights sleep.

The final morning after breakfast you will be picked up and driven to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport to connect with your onward flight.
